ZooCritters

It is wishful thinking that I will ever be a wildlife photographer, although I drool over those 500mm, really fast lenses that make such great shots from a distance.   Nope.  Between lack of time, lack of money and lack of the ability to hike for days, I just have to satisfy myself with what I can find a bit closer to home.  Here are some of my favorites from the San Diego Zoo/Safari Park.

The hippo kept circling the pool, over and over.  She surfaced at the same spot each lap.   Shot this one through the glass, so it's not as sharp as I'd like, but I thought it was pretty cool to see her up close and personal.

This small eagle landed right next to me.

How could you not love that face!

This guy let me sit pretty close to him for quite some time.

Lazy lion days.
